From our base in Falkirk, Scotland, we raise funds and provide resources to support and sponsor educational projects for our EduSport partners in Zambia.

Friend Of EduSport aim to provide opportunities for young people in Zambia to develop through education and sport.  We raise funds by finding sponsors that allow young people to continue in school.

Key Objectives

  1. Provide opportunities for people in the UK to sponsor a young person through their education in Zambia.
  2. Raise funds to support the initiation and ongoing development of Chawama Sport and Educational Empowerment School, Lusaka, Zambia.
  3. Raise awareness within the UK of the issues facing Zambia’s youth.
  4. Source funding to empower the next generation with improved education, knowledge and opportunities.
While sport is at the centre of our activities, the role of peer leaders in educating young people about drugs, alcohol, safe sexual practises and the dangers of cultural practises is invaluable and indeed central to how the work of our charity assists Zambia in its development and progress.

Programmes

To achieve these objectives Friend Of EduSport runs an innovative sponsorship programme that provides a direct link between the UK sponsors and Zambia through hand written letters. We have three innovative and engaging programmes:

  1. Peer Leader Sponsorship programme which empowers young people with development opportunities.
  2. Dare to Dream Grant programme provides the next step in further education for excelling peer leaders
  3. Friend Of EduSport Grant programme that has so far started a school that now employs 4 young teachers. Our aim is to provide the capital, skills and sponsorship that will enable the school to be sustained beyond our initial investment.
