Over 270 people took part in Friend Of EduSports November Awareness workshops. Peer Leaders from Falkirk Council Straightalk, Bankier Primary School and Stirling Councils Street Sport projects enjoyed workshops led by Derek Keir and Lyson Zulu aimed at enhancing awareness of problems facing Zambias youths and the positive work taking place to challenge the HIV/AIDS virus from further spreading.
Understanding of Peer Education and highlighting the potential power of sport to translate important life skill messages was an important part of our day. The workshops included information on Friend Of EduSport/ EduSport Empowerment Programmes, Education through Sport practical session and a Chimpombwa making session where participants learned and practiced how Zambians make footballs from plastic bags. “A very powerful presentation. Hands on approach was effective. Definitely sent message re edusport and friends of edusport. Hearing lysons personal story was very interesting” “I thought today was a brilliant experience. I really enjoyed myself. I learned a lot about the Zambian community. Extremely educational and thought provoking” If you, your school or your group want to take part in a Friend Of EduSport Awareness Workshop please contact
