This year has seen significant fundraising efforts from around the UK. Let's find out a bit more about them...
Lauren Holden organised an 80s themed disco (see picture) at Falkirk Rugby Club which raised a whopping £780 from around 50 attendees. The impressive total was aided by a top raffle prize of a Ferrari car experience, and an impromptu rugby stripper! Big thanks to Lauren for organising the event, and her friends Jim Morton and Ian Cooper who very kindly provided the music, lighting and dry ice for free!
After attending the Scotland Development Day, Iain and Rosie Morrison very kindly donated £250 as part of their wedding favours. Many congratulations and thanks go to the happy couple who adventured to Mount Kilimanjaro on their honeymoon! Another attendee at the Scottish Development Day was Ross Duncanson, who raised over £100 from a World Cup sweepstake.
Down in London, fundraising has also been happening in earnest. Michelle Farmer raised £250 as she braved the chilly depths of the Thames to swim a mile for the charity. Having borrowed a wet suit from her coach there was nothing stopping the South African freestyle once it got going.
Joy Murray has also been a Friend Of EduSport over the last two years firstly by organising Soho Parish Primary School students to take part in a sponsored swim in addition to a 'virtual cycle' to Livingstone event which raised funds to support our teaching sponsorship at Chawama SEE. Joy and husband Andrew have also arranged for the coveted FoE wristbands to be sold in their London fair trade shop!
Enormous thank yous go to all the FOE supporters named above, but also to the many more who haven't been featured in this article! Send any of your stories and pictures to
