Fundraising Lightbulbs from FoE America

Hello Friends of EduSport usa_flag.gif

Happy new year from Friend's of EduSport in America!

Here's a list of fund raising events that have been successful for us over the years:

All sorts of adult/children's soiree's/cocktail parties/dinner parties/balls...etc...always tie in a raffle or silent auction...tying in a theme always makes them a bit more exciting/fun

Best raffle items ever...a small sail boat...all inclusive vacation packages...totally pimped out custom made children's playhouse done in a coastal architectural style...really hot concert tickets....sports event tickets

american.jpegCalendars...best were of local well known folks from the community ..creatively photographed in their professional setting ...here's the clincher........the folks were totally naked with the exception of professionally related small accessories covering their essentials....did one for the Men of Wickford ..then another the gals of Wickford...teams groups..ex;  firemen...police.....locals from the grocery did fun group shots too....the more conservative and generally uptight the "model"/s...the better!!!

Toy Duck races...or toy boat charter races

All kinds of children's social events/activities...again tying in silent auctions/raffles

Yardone_for_the_future.jpg sales

Yard sales space rentals

Art/artisan/craft space rental expos

NK Idol

Spelling bee competitions

Dance/Variety show act competitions

Battle of the Bands

Sponsored walks...sponsored run (road races)

Dream Date Auctions

Car Washes

Cookie Walks/bake sales/cake walks

Hire a handyman(gal)....all sorts of chores done in exchange for charity donations...(.your friends ironing suggestion for example).. kids have done garden clean ups, weeding......helping move..cutting lawns...window washing...house cleaning..snow shoveling...you get the picture!

Dance marathons

Hula hoop contests

All sorts of baking/cooking competitions/floral arrangement/wreath....ie judging creative "works" of non professionals

Taste of the Town events...local chefs/restaurants offer up their finest in one central location

Costume contests...best done at Halloween

Scavenger hunts

Where's waldo searches?

Guess the weight contests....usually involving pumpkins, etc

Lobster raffle...12 lobsters...or 10 lb's and up

How many jelly beans in the jar?

Group or team competitions of totally silly races....have done a hysterical Relay Races where men...usually members of athletic teams have to compete wearing ballet skirts...clowns feet/sunglasses ..woman's wig....etc...carrying a ping pong ball on a spoon

Races where folks handmake their own carzy "racecars"...no motors of course...or their own boat...called the fools regatta....toilet paper bride is another fun creative competition....contestants have 10-15 minutes to design and construct a wedding gown entirely out of toilet paper on their own living model

Most of these ideas generally are part of a larger Festival/Celebration/Party..etc...makes sense??  I also always try to work in some sort of small very inexpensive product/event related items sales booth.....and food basics sales area to get the greatest income out of every event....and getting all services/products needed for the events donated (as part of the charitable giving)...is key to netting the greatest possible profit for the cause....doing small games fun art/craft activities...photo ops....all for a small fee....best to sell tickets to pay for these activity xtras...all helps to generate more income for your cause tn_DSC08456.JPG

General rule of thumb....you gotta spend $$$ to make $$$ and expect that at least some of your total take will be spent on event overheads ....make sense??...and of course.... my best word of advice is getting the word out....i see all the time groups putting together terrific/creative/fun/interesting events....but drop the ball on getting the word out to their community ...most don't know how to make good of use the best communication vehicles....or the even greater mistake i see is charity event planning groups PAYING for advertising space/efforts

...ask away if I can fill in greater detail where ever you might need

hope it helps to provide a bit of inspiration!!!

Best always,

Diana
