Go Sisters World Series

The Go Sisters World Series offers a sporting platform to participate and raise awareness of gender equality and female empowerment. It is offered by Friend of EduSport, a registered charity providing educational and sporting opportunities for young people in some of the poorest communities around the world. The programme tackles millennium development goal three to promote gender equality and empower woman. Participants can be part of our movement to raise funds and awareness that will help advocate equal rights for girls and provide educational opportunities for more young women.  The programme promotes awareness, increases activity levels and aims to develop confidence in participants. Go Sisters World Series unites women around the world through sporting events; promoting participation and enjoyment through physical activity.  tn_dsc07439.jpg

Register your event today to join our Go Sisters World Series network and receive an information pack complete with guidance notes, sponsorship forms, press release and a step by step guide to plan your event. The pack comes ready to engage participants and includes an advocacy challenge to tally the total number of people that learn about equality and girls rights as a result of each participant’s advocacy.

Programme Overview
The Go Sisters World Series will help participants become responsible citizens and effective contributors in their society. The Go Sisters World Series was inspired by the Go Sisters programme run in Zambia by the EduSport Foundation, since its launch in 2007 it has grown in scope and now includes events in numerous countries around the world.

Our programme was launched to achieve the following aims;

• Share the vision of girl empowerment to a worldwide audience.
• To engage new ‘friends’ in the fundraising effort to support sport and education for girls around the world.
• Raise the profile of the potential demonstrated by young people in all parts of the world in the fight against poverty and inequality
• Provide a participatory opportunity to increase school sport events for advocacy around the UK

The World Series event can be facilitated in any sport ensuring that an event is run and the Go Sisters message is shared with an engaged audience. We are keen to receive applications from schools, community groups, organisations, charities and any individuals from around the world interested in advocating for equality, girl empowerment and encouraging active citizens. We are continually inspired by the innovation shown by our supporters, so join our network and tell us what event you wish to plan. We ask that all partners use the Go Sisters logo in promotion materials and additionally reference Friend of EduSport as a partner in their work.
