It is with great excitement that Friend of EduSport announces a new partnership with Kenyan NGO Angaza!

The partnership was confirmed last week, as FoE Director Derek took a week out of his daily life to attend a series of meetings in London.

As well as sessions with UK Sport and Alive & Kicking, Derek also met with Angaza Director Paul Otieno to discuss how their respective organisations could collaborate. Angaza is an NGO not unlike EduSport, based in Thika, 40km outside of Kenya’s capital, Nairobi. Their name, Angaza is a Swahili word for ‘enlightenment’ and their sport and development centre aims to bring light through sport by promoting children’s rights, HIV and AIDS awareness, building life skills and empowering girls.

Angaza loved our Go Sisters World Series programme, and have since signed up to host a tournament in Thika on Sunday 8th May. The primary focus of the day will be to inspire and develop girls through football – read more about it here.
