The Go Sisters World Series continues around the globe with a mixed sports event in London
On Sunday 8th May, Go Sisters '11 came to London Town. By 10.45am, the Geraldine Mary Harmsworth sports facility at Elephant and Castle was teeming with sporting life. 10 5-a-side squads and 4 netball teams were assembled, in addition to umpires, refs, helpers, and most excitingly, EduSport's own Mr. Paul Zulu all the way from Zambia!
Paul kicked us off as he addressed the crowd of over 100, telling them a little about EduSport and Go Sisters. Just a few minutes later, the Go Sisters philosophy was put into practise as lads and ladies competed alongside each other.
The netball title was snapped up by The Team with No Name, captained by Claire Jenkin (see above). In the hotly-contested football final, Team Wills and Kate faced Multiple Scorgasms, with Scorgasms taking a narrow 5-4 victory (see below).
Special credit goes to 15-year old Adam Cleverley, who came along as a player but found himself reffing the final! The award for 'most effort' of the day goes to Team Chav, who set off from Leeds at 6am to make it down to London in time for the tournament!
Big thanks to all who helped out with the preparation and running of the day, and also to our partners Alive & Kicking who donated footballs hand-stitched in Zambia as prizes.
Finally, thanks to all who came along and made the day a success - we took over £500 for FoE, so a pat on the back to you all!
